Bench Person
MK Wood Works is expanding our shop facility and is looking for an experienced bench worker to join our team.
We fabricate custom cabinetry, architectural millwork, and specialty woodwork for residential projects throughout New England. This position is primarily focused on bench work, fabrication, milling, and assembly within our shop.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in producing high-quality work, can work independently from shop drawings, and understands the importance of accuracy, organization, and communication.
Responsibilities
Fabricate custom cabinetry, architectural millwork, and specialty woodwork
Read and work from shop drawings, blueprints, and project plans
Mill, join, assemble, and prepare wood components
Safely and confidently operate woodworking machinery and hand tools
Coordinate with the Shop Foreman and Project Managers regarding production progress and scheduled completion dates
Inspect work throughout fabrication and help maintain MK Wood Works' quality standards
Help maintain shop equipment and follow established service schedules
Keep individual work areas and the overall shop clean, safe, and organized
Safely handle raw materials, completed cabinetry, and other heavy components
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have experience in custom cabinetry, architectural millwork, or a related woodworking trade.
Candidates should be able to:
Read and understand shop drawings and construction plans
Work accurately with both machinery and hand tools
Complete detailed fabrication and assembly work with limited supervision
Communicate clearly about progress, questions, and potential problems
Work productively as part of a coordinated shop team
Safely lift and handle materials associated with cabinetry and millwork fabrication
Work Schedule
Monday through Thursday 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Friday 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Occasional earlier or later hours may be required based on workload and project schedules.
Compensation and Benefits
Pay - Competitive hourly pay based on experience
Review - Performance review after two months of employment
