Carpenter
MK Wood Works is expanding our shop and field operations and is looking for an experienced carpenter to join our team.
This position involves finish carpentry, millwork installation, and general construction work on residential and commercial projects. Our field team installs the custom cabinetry and architectural millwork produced in our shop while also completing the carpentry and building work required.
We are looking for someone who can work independently, coordinate effectively with a Project Manager and take responsibility for quality, organization and progress in the field
Responsibilities
Lead and perform field carpentry, millwork installation, and general construction work
Install custom cabinetry, architectural millwork, doors, trim, and other shop-fabricated components
Read and work from shop drawings, blueprints, and project plans
Plan daily field activities and coordinate manpower, materials, tools, and equipment
Communicate with the Project Manager regarding progress, material needs, scheduling, and questions requiring resolution
Coordinate field conditions with the shop and confirm that installations match approved drawings and project requirements
Inspect completed work and maintain MK Wood Works' quality standards throughout installation
Operate the tools and equipment required to complete carpentry and installation work safely
Maintain a clean, orderly, and professional jobsite
Represent MK Wood Works professionally when working with clients, contractors, architects, and other trades
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have experience in finish carpentry, or a related building trade.
Candidates should be able to:
Read and understand construction plans and detailed shop drawings
Lay out and complete installations accurately with limited supervision
Lead work in the field while remaining productive alongside the crew
Identify conflicts or missing information before they affect quality or schedule
Communicate clearly with Project Managers, coworkers, clients, and other trades
Clean driving record and valid license
Safely lift and handle heavy cabinetry, tools, and construction materials
Work Schedule
Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Additional hours Earlier, later, may occasionally be required
Compensation and Benefits
Pay - Competitive hourly pay based on experience
